The Hidden Dangers of Your Excess Abdominal Fat - It’s More Serious Than a Vanity Issue!

Did you know that the vast majority of people in this day and age have excess abdominal fat? The first thing that most people think of is that their extra abdominal fat is simply ugly, is covering up their abs from being visible, and makes them self conscious about showing off their body.

However, what most people don’t realize is that excess abdominal fat in particular, is not only ugly, but is also a dangerous risk factor to your health. Scientific research has clearly demonstrated that although it is unhealthy in general to have excess body fat throughout your body, it is also particularly dangerous to have excess abdominal fat.

There are two types of fat that you have in your abdominal area. The first type that covers up your abs from being visible is called subcutaneous fat and lies directly beneath the skin and on top of the abdominal muscles.

The second type of fat that you have in your abdominal area is called visceral fat, and that lies deeper in the abdomen beneath your muscle and surrounding your organs. Visceral fat also plays a role in giving certain men that “beer belly” appearance where their abdomen protrudes excessively but at the same time, also feels sort of hard if you push on it.

Both subcutaneous fat and visceral fat in the abdominal area are serious health risk factors, but science has shown that having excessive visceral fat is even more dangerous than subcutaneous fat. Both of them greatly increase the risk your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, sleep apnea, various forms of cancer, and other degenerative diseases.

Part of the reason visceral fat is particularly dangerous is that it apparently releases more inflammatory molecules into your body on a consistent basis.

If you care about the quality of your life and your loved ones, reducing your abdominal fat should be one of your TOP priorities! There’s just no way around it. Besides, a side-effect of finally getting rid of all of that excessive ugly abdominal fat is that your stomach will flatten out, and if you lose enough stomach fat, you will be able to visibly see those sexy six pack abs that everyone wants.

So what gets rid of extra abdominal fat? Is there actually a REAL solution beyond all of the gimmicks and hype that you see in ads and on commercials for “miracle” fat loss products?

The first thing you must understand is that there is absolutely NO quick fix solution. There are no pills or supplements of any sort that will help you lose your abdominal fat faster. Also, none of the gimmicky ab rockers, rollers, or ab belts will help get rid of abdominal fat either. You can’t spot reduce your stomach fat by using any of these worthless contraptions. It simply doesn’t work that way.

The ONLY solution to consistently lose your abdominal fat and keep it off for good is to combine a sound nutritious diet full of unprocessed natural foods with a properly designed strategic exercise program that stimulates the necessary hormonal and metabolic response within your body. Both your food intake as well as your training program are important if you are to get this right.

I’ve actually even seen a particular study that divided thousands of participants into a diet-only group and an exercise/diet group. While both groups in this study made good progress, the diet-only group lost significantly LESS abdominal fat than the diet & exercise combined group.

Now the important thing to realize is that just any old exercise program will not necessarily do the trick. The majority of people that attempt getting into a good exercise routine are NOT working out effectively enough to really stimulate the loss of stubborn abdominal fat. I see this everyday at the gym.

Most people will do your typical boring ineffective cardio routines, throw in a little outdated body-part style weight training, and pump away with some crunches and side bends, and think that they are doing something useful for reducing their abdominal fat. Then they become frustrated after weeks or months of no results and wonder where they went wrong.

Well, the good news is that I’ve spent over a decade researching this topic, analyzing the science, and applying it “in the trenches” with myself as well as thousands of my clients from all over the world to see what works to really stimulate abdominal fat loss.

I need to lose about 20 pounds FAST. I was thinking of doing no carbs. Has anyone had success doing this?

If you have done this, how long did it take you to lose 20 pounds? Please no answers about eating right and exercising…I already know that. I just want to hear from people who have done a no carb diet. And, what can I eat? Just meat? I have heard I can't even have veggies or fruits.

I have lost 10kg so far (3 weeks) on an almost no carb diet, I eat lean meat lots of salad and vegies a moderate amount of fruit and allow myself a small amount of carbs every now and then.

Ok, reality check for those of you who are saying this is dangerous or that you loose muscle, check your facts!!! This diet was prescribed for me by my endocrinologist, I'm diabetic!
As long as you eat small amounts of carbs you are perfectly safe, and, furthermore, the only way you can selectively make your body shed fat instead of muscle is by cutting down on carbs, which incidentally people eat far more than they need of anyway!

Need to lose 20 pounds FAST!?

I'm 5'6 and currently weigh 137, my normal weight is 120-122 but due to stress I've put on weight..I'm desperate, cant fit into my clothes and need to know the fastest way to lose this in 3 weeks. How many calories- how much cardio- please help-

There is a good book, "5 factor fitness", by Harley Pasternack, that outlines an exercise program that is very effective. 30 minutes a day, includes cardio, weights and abdominal exercises.

I wanna lose 20-30 pounds as fast as i can but still have it be healthy and not screw up my motabolism?

I weigh about 137.8 pounds and i'm tired of looking in the mirror and seeing a nice big gut there and huge theighs. I want to get into like 117 or 120 pounds where most of the other girls my age are at. I'm 15 and i hate the way my body looks. Please help and give me tips on great healthy ways to lose those pounds!!

i advise you to drink green tea 1-3 glasses per day
green tea speeds up your metabolism
drink lots and lots of water 8 glasses each day.
do not snack
do not eat 6 meals a day, try to only eat 3
if you are really hungry and you've had all your daily meals snack on fruits ( oranges, apples, bananas )
exercise more try and run for at least 30 minutes a day
get more active
get more sleep it prepares your body
stretch, yes it works and it doesn't just help you lose weight it helps with you're growing to make you a little taller
count your calories try to stay under the amount of 1300 calories per day
change you're lifestyle it makes a difference
do not eat candy or chips eat more greens or protein bars
avoid fast food and cut out fried food when you cook your meal oven cook your food do not fry it
chew gum because when you chew gum you do not pick at food for example if theres some chips in you're cupboard you go to them a think good damn they look good then you would say no i cant pick at them because i dont wanna throw my gum away
do not eat after 6pm because before 6pm you can burn all you're food off and if you eat after six it will lay on you're stomach as you eat.
do not eat before you go to sleep
drink a glass of water before you go to sleep
eat spicy food, if you can because it speeds up you're metabolism
do not weigh you're self everyday because it torments you,weight you're self once a week ( every Monday )

If i dont only eat crackers and water for a couple days can i lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks?

ive been working out everyday but i need to take it off fast.

Don't be ridiculous.

You're already beautiful.

Just keep working out. Notthing is sexier than a strong healthy body.

I'm 5'3" and 104 pounds - i know…really fat. I really want to lose 15-20 pounds by Valentine's Day. What are some tips on doing that?

You are really skinny! Hun, I am 5'4" and 110 pounds. Why do you want to lose so much weight? Even if you have some baggage somewhere, reality check, we all do. I do too, I'm 16 I don't know your age but if you really want to lose weight, try Billy Blanks TaeBo Celebrity Fit "cardio." Stay focused. Good luck.

I know how it feels to lose weight, we are never satisfied right? If you don't want the video, do work outside. Lift and drink lots of water. Just wait till the summer but watch what you each.

run for half an hour every day, do 100 sit-ups every day, Do jumping jacks while you watch tv- if you stop the jumping jacks turn off the tv. drink lots of water and eat tons of raw vegetables instead of snaking.

i want to lose 20pounds or more in 3or 4weeks plz i really want to loss some pounds and i want SERIOUS ANSWERs' k NO PILLS OR SERGUEy PLS NONE or i'll abuse u k plz i'm kinda serious about this i want to see wat kind of exersise i should do or wat i should eat now yea plz answer seriously k thanx :) sry about the abuse but i will i'm not kidding i'm just want to be serious now k :)
Have you ever been on a Diet before? Are you willing to Excersize? Do you have Good or bad Will power?
Do you have any health issues or ailments that would be restricting to a certain diet or Excercise? (for example Arthritus, diabettes, allergies, bad knees or joints, bad kidney)

( I cheated some and I didn't Excersize, So it's possible you can loose weight faster than I did)
I just lost 30 pounds with No Excersise, Just from my Diet alone. I went on the South Beach Diet for 6 months. It's a Low carb diet… Not "no" carb diet.
The diet in a nut shell doesn't allow you to have White Flour of any kind, Enriched wheat flour, or Sugar and the 1st 2 wks have additional rules. You can get the south Beach Diet books online or at a book store, there are 3 or 4 currently, The 1st one Explains the diet and has recipes and a meal plan in the book (blue book) then there are recipe books (yellow and orange) that you can purchase if needed.
One thing to Remember…….. Your starting weight and body fat % depends on how fast you will Loose the weight. (also your dedication to whatever you do)
If you're high in extra Body fat, You'll loose it faster then a skinny person trying to loose 5-10 pounds.
If you're looking for just a couple pounds……. stop eating sugar, stop drinking Pop and Go hit the Gym or get at home fitness tapes.
I found 8 minute Pilates at Big Lots for $4, and I Love it because it only takes 8 minutes a Day and it really makes a difference with my energy level through the day. I haven't seen any results yet, but I've only had it a couple days.

As far as Excersize……. Where are your problem areas?
Your behind, legs, arms, stomache….. Figure out what you need to work out first, then figure out a routine.
The Most important part….ROUTINE! If you don't stick to something, then you'll put it off and it'll never get done.

Call some Local Gyms to see which ones have a fitness trainer on sight to help you with the areas that need special attention. If you need to loose 20 lbs in a month, Be careful and do it the healthy way.

If you're looking into herbal Appetite suppresants……….. Make sure you read all the precaustions and warnings on the label. They have liquid drops you can put under your tongue. Plus research it on the internet to see side effects from People who have used it. Also, call your pharmacists for a list of side effects. You could look into, but again Check it out before you buy to make sure it's safe for your body and Follow all instructions for using it.

My best advice is Go see a fitness trainor at a local gym, and Eat healthy.
