lose 20 pounds fast?

I need to lose 20 pounds, but exercise, diet, and diet pills have not worked. I want to stop eating until I lose the weight. Does anyone have tricks to keep from being miserable while not eating? Or do you just adjust to it? Any tips would be useful? Should I eat celery and water until the weight is lost?
