Have you been trying to lose your stomach fat? How many crunches or sit-ups or leg lifts have you sweated through? How much fat disappeared? Probably none right? Did you know why?

Spot exercises that target just the abdomens won’t burn fat from your belly. They actually will tighten up your stomach and you may have lost an in. or so around your waist but they won’t shed that stomach fat. The abdomens simply aren’t a massive enough muscle grouping to burn significant fat. Go to sleep.  I know you want to watch your fave T.V.  Show or go out to the flicks, etc, but if you want to lose tummy fat, you are going to be forced to get some more sleep!  Sleep is important in that it will allow your body to function properly.  A properly function body will burn off fat…provided you are doing everything else correct ( correct nutrition, water, exercise ).

There are so many different reasons why so many people fail in their quest for ripped abs, lets face facts, if it were easy then we would all be walking around with the body of a Greek god and women would be falling at our feet!!

 

The secret is to stay focused and realistic, so here are a few tips to begin with.

 

1: Goal Setting

 

You simply have to have a set of goals to work towards, and you need to be as specific as you can. It is utterly pointless turning up at your local gym every now and again and just hoping that lean ripped abs will just appear from nowhere.

 

Your goals need to be written down and they need to be revised on a regular basis as you progress through your training plan. Without a set goal you will just wander around aimlessly before eventually just giving up in frustration.

 

2: Form & Technique

 

Never ever sacrifice form and technique in order to lift more weight. The main focus of your training plan is to stimulate the specific muscle group you are working on. We are working on developing ripped abs, we are not powerlifters! Most powerlifters are huge and immensely strong but very rarely do they have lean ripped abs.

 

Concentrate on great technique and breathing, making sure to squeeze the muscles and performing your routines in as slow and controlled a manner as you possibly can.

 

3: Nutrition

 

I can’t stress this point strongly enough. Excellent nutrition is vital to any training plan, but is even more essential when your goal is lean ripped abs.

 

Ripped abs can only appear once you have reduced your body fat percentage to a low enough level for them to become visible, so it is a good idea to have a well thought out diet plan. A low fat, high fibre and protein rich diet is an absolute must.

 

4: Positive Thinking

 

Now I know that we are working on our bodies here in our quest for ripped abs, but it would be foolish to neglect the relevance of a positive mindset. You just have to believe in yourself to succeed in your quest, if you don’t then you simply have no chance.

 

You have to be disciplined in your training and consistent in your approach. There is simply no point in turning up once a week and expecting results, it won’t happen! Try not to beat yourself up when things don’t go according to plan. You will probably fall off the wagon from time to time, the key is not to beat yourself up, just get right back on and you will reach your goal.

HDT: Better Abs In 3 Minutes?

So needless to say people are freaked out to find that I train my abs in about 3 minutes.

Let me give you the dirty facts about my abs.

They are the worst part of my body… and one of the best parts at the same time.

The “worst” bit has nothing to do with muscles or even bodyfat most of the time… but SKIN.

Remember, I was obese… 46-inch waist and 38 percent bodyfat.

So my skin got pretty messed up. It never quite recovered from that and I have a “bit” of loose skin around my abs.

Drives me nuts. I may have it removed! ; )

But other than THAT… my abs are pretty good.

This is after THREE MINUTES of ab training done 2-3 times a week.

Let me spell out my thoughts on this:

If you are training your abs longer than 7 minutes a week you are doing something wrong… or you’re just wasting your time.

Sorry to break it to you, but abs develop fast.

It’s the BODYFAT you need to focus on.

Before you do, let me give you a substitute exercise for one of the three I recommend during my “3-Minute Abs” routine (found in both books on the page above.)

Hanging leg raises… they are the best when done the way I show you in my book.

BUT some people do not have the gym or the straps I recommend.

So do this instead: Leg raises on a Swiss Ball, bench or even off the floor.

Here’s the tip: Raise the legs, pause at the top for 2 seconds and blow ALL of your air out. Contract your abs HARD at the top.

Then and ONLY then lower the legs slowly.

If you do this right there’s no way to get more than 15 reps. I get about 8 before my abs give out!

That’s all it takes. You do NOT need “high reps” to develop your abs. In fact LOW reps work better…

You just need resistance… and my way of training gives you plenty.

This means a LOT less time doing the exercises and a LOT MORE time enjoying the nice set of tummy muscles you’ve built.

Sounds like a plan.
