Nitric Oxide And Why It’s In So Many Supplements

I’ve been learning lots about a fascinating little molecule that has been getting a large amount of acclaim recently. Its name is nitric oxide, and it’s made from one atom of nitrogen and one atom of oxygen. More and more, I have been watching this compound make its way into supplements and personal care products.

Interestingly enough, this tiny molecule won the Molecule of the Year award early in the 90s. It’s commonly found in the body, and has a number of different purposes. It’s what’s known commonly as a vasodilator, which means that it widens the veins and arteries, making allowance for greater blood flow.

This makes it useful for a bunch of different kinds of supplements and products. Nitric oxide is often sold as a weight lifting supplement, giving weight lifters more energy and an increased workload ability. Nitric oxide can also typically be found in hair loss products because of the fact that a deficit of blood flow to the scalp is seen as a major cause of hair loss.

Why I like nitric oxide as a molecule is that the body can very simply make it naturally. Because it’s so simple of a molecule, it can be made from the breakdown of more complicated molecules. Many people prefer this technique as opposed to taking nitric oxide supplements because it is a more holistic approach and also because making nitric oxide naturally will lead to a more uniform dispersion of nitric oxide into the blood stream than taking nitric oxide supplements.

So what are some natural techniques of producing nitric oxide? One method is to supplement the amino acid L-Arginine. L-Arginine is a precursor compound to nitric oxide and is also greatly valuable to the body in numerous other ways as well. Taking an amino acid supplement like this not only encourages the formation of nitric oxide, it also carries the many other benefits that come from L-Arginine as well.

Nitric oxide supplements are all over the place these days. Some of them are safer than others, so be sure you do your research and know the potential side effects.Naturally producing nitric oxideis also a good way to go.

Prevent Snoring by Losing Weight

Snore No More Pillow

The outcomes of a new study done in the Netherlands under 1500 people who snore are shocking. People who snore and the partners of people who snore are harmful for the economy, They make more mistakes, are less able to focus on there work and they call in sick more times than there colleagues who don’t snore. When you know that one third of all people suffer from snoring these day’s,we can’t deny any longer that snoring is a big problem and not just for the people who snore but also for society. It is time we learn how to prevent snoring.

How do I prevent snoring?

The first step is to be aware that there is a problem, when you have partner it is easy. If you snore they probably would have told you more than once, when you sleep and snore on your own it is a bit more difficult.

You know you probably have at least a snoring problem if you experience the following symptoms:

  • If you fall asleep at inappropriate times
  • If you do not feel rested when you wake up in the morning
  • In you have memory difficulties
  • If you have headaches
  • If you feel you have a constant low energy level

The second step is to ask your partner (or ask a friend or family member to sleep over) to observe your snoring. It is important they tell you in what position you sleep and at what point you start snoring, they also need to observe the snoring sound and if you stop breathing all together during the night.

For almost all snoring types there are tips and solutions to prevent snoring. However there is one great tip for all those people who are overweight.

The best tip we can give you is losing weight

This tip to prevent snoring is probably the advise most doctors and other medical advisers will give you and they are right. If you are overweight this often is the best tip to prevent snoring. Being overweight often leads to problems that cause snoring. The excess weight also puts pressure on the lungs and windpipe and this can also cause you to snore.

On the other hand, there is often less strength, more loose tissue and weak muscles around the air passages. This weak muscles and loose tissue vibrates more and causes the snoring. Next to loosing weight, the second best advice we can give you is a stop snoring exercise  program.

Sleeping position

It is important to let someone observe your sleeping position while you are snoring because our last tip is just about changing your sleeping position. Lying on your back often causes much more snoring than when you lie on your side. There are devices that make sure that when you turn and end up on your back this position causes discomfort for instance because of something on your back, a well shaped pillow or mattress accessory and so on.

Of course there are many other prevent snoring solutions but these are the ones you should remember. Losing weight is not only a way to prevent snoring but it is also better for your health. And that is good for you, your partner and for society.

Tom Dowling will show you at his site “Gotta Stop Snoring.com” all there is to know about the subject in articles about for example Snoring Problems or the Snore No More Pillow
